COTA LAUNCHES SEPTEMBER SERVICE CHANGES, INCLUDING NEW BUS LINE AND EXTENSION OF MAJOR LINE TO DUBLIN
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will expand connections across the region beginning Monday, Sept. 7, with service changes that include the launch of a new transit line connecting Hilliard to Downtown Columbus and an extension of fixed-route service into Dublin.
The September service change represents another step in delivering the expanded transit service promised through the community-supported LinkUS initiative, while creating new connections across Central Ohio.
NEW LINE 30 CONNECTS HILLIARD, UPPER ARLINGTON, OHIO STATE AND DOWNTOWN
COTA will launch Line 30 Hilliard-OSU, creating a new fixed-route connection between Hilliard, Upper Arlington, The Ohio State University and Downtown Columbus via Neil Avenue. Line 30 will operate every 30 minutes, seven days a week providing customers with a new option for reaching jobs, education, health care, shopping, recreation, and other destinations. The new line is a direct result of the LinkUS initiative and community feedback and delivers on a commitment COTA made when the service was first announced in 2025.
LINE 1 CHANGES CREATE NEW DUBLIN CONNECTION
COTA will also restructure the existing Line 1 Kenny/Livingston into two routes and extend service north into Dublin.
Line 1 Kenny will extend north from Carriage Place to the Ohio State Outpatient Care Dublin, establishing a new fixed-route connection between Dublin, northwest Columbus, The Ohio State University area and Downtown Columbus. Service between Carriage Place and Dublin will operate every 30 minutes. Line 1 Livingston will continue serving neighborhoods south and east of Downtown Columbus, ending at the Reynoldsburg Park & Ride.
Customers who need to transfer between Line 1 Kenny and Line 1 Livingston will be able to do so at 10 stop locations on North High and South High Streets in Downtown Columbus. Customers can learn more by checking out this detailed how-to video.
ADDITIONAL SEPTEMBER SERVICE CHANGES
Other changes beginning Sept. 7 include:
- Line 32 North Broadway: Line 32 will no longer serve areas west of Kingsdale Shopping Center. Customers traveling toward Hilliard will be able to transfer between Line 32 and the new Line 30 at Kingsdale. Line 32 will continue operating every 60 minutes.
- Dublin Park and Ride: Zoo Bus and Line 73 Dublin customers will begin using a new Park and Ride location at the northwest corner of Dale Drive and Bridge Park Avenue. Customers using COTA service may park free in the Theodore Garage.
- Zoo Bus: Daily Zoo Bus service concludes on Labor Day. Following Labor Day through Halloween, Zoo Bus will operate Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Schedule Adjustments: Minor schedule changes will be made on Line 21 Hilliard Rome, Line 22 OSU/Rickenbacker, and Line 24 Hamilton to improve on-time performance.
The September improvements build on COTA’s ongoing implementation of LinkUS, which includes a commitment to significantly expand transit service throughout Central Ohio while developing new rapid transit corridors and investing in sidewalks, bikeways and trails.
