COTA TO PROVIDE VOTERS FARE-FREE RIDES TO AND FROM POLLING LOCATIONS ON ELECTION DAY

FREE COTA rides on Election Day

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is waiving all transit fares for all customers on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The initiative, unanimously approved by the COTA board of trustees at its September meeting, is designed to improve access to polling locations for people in Central Ohio facing transportation obstacles. On Election Day, customers can board any COTA transit vehicle at no cost. This includes COTA’s fixed-route system, COTA Mainstream, Mainstream On-Demand and COTA//Plus.

Voters can check their polling location on the Franklin County Board of Elections Website. Once voters find their polling location, they can plan their trip at COTA.com or the Transit app on their smartphone.

All of COTA’s services operate during polling hours – 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., with bus service running from 5 a.m. to Midnight. Customer Care Call Center will also be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Election Day.
