COTA President/CEO Joanna M. Pinkerton Appointed to TRC Board of Directors

03/25/2019

Joanna M. Pinkerton, President/CEO of the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), was appointed to Transportation Research Center Inc.’s (TRC) Board of Directors. TRC is an affiliate of The Ohio State University and Pinkerton previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the research facility before taking the helm at COTA.

I am honored to continue serving the mobility industry in this capacity and appreciate The Ohio State University’s vote of confidence in my appointment,” Pinkerton said. “TRC is uniquely situated with its relationships – serving the private industry R&D needs, joint development of federal regulations and mobility industry standards, and they have established themselves as a relationship builder with our local and state governments as well.”

“Transportation is on the verge of historic, life-changing advances and we know that TRC will be at the center of the development of these new technologies,” said TRC President and CEO Brett Roubinek. “We are fortunate to have a strong board to keep TRC ahead of the curve and we’re pleased to welcome Joanna Pinkerton and Ardeshir Contractor to our leadership team. They are both well respected in the engineering community and their expertise will be very valuable to our organization.”

Pinkerton is also chair of the DriveOhio Government Advisory Board, which represents local government in an effort to accelerate smart infrastructure and connected vehicle projects throughout Ohio. She has been President/CEO of COTA since April 2018. Pinkerton is a licensed professional engineer and also has served in leadership roles at the Ohio Department of Transportation and in Union County, home to the state’s first connected vehicle corridor, the U.S. 33 Smart Mobility Corridor.
