COTA bus reroutes for Capital City Half Marathon


Central Ohio Transit Authority buses will be rerouted in two phases April 27 and 28 for the Capital City Half Marathon.


  • South High Street will close between Rich and Broad streets in both directions.
  • Town Street will be closed between High and Front streets.
  • Rich Street will be closed between High and Third streets.

Phase I reroutes will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, April 27 and last into early Saturday morning April 28. Phase II reroutes will begin early morning on Saturday, April 28 and will last through the afternoon.

The half marathon will affect the downtown, German Village, Victorian Village and Ohio State University campus areas. Customers should expect delays.

Phase I: On Friday, road closures will begin at approximately 5 p.m.

COTA lines affected: 1, 2, 2L, 8, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, CBUS, CMAX and AirConnect

Phase 2: On Saturday, April 28, all passenger transfers will take place at East Broad Street and Grant Avenue, as much of the downtown area will be closed.

Reroutes will affect ALL lines operating in the downtown area. Lines 22 and 31 also will be rerouted.

Because of the extent of the reroutes, the CBUS will not begin operating until after 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28.
