Attachment: PDF

WHAT: This year on Nov. 8, nearly $200 billion in public transit referendums will be held across
the United States, including a renewal of the Central Ohio Transit Authority’s (COTA)
levy in Columbus.
Public transportation leaders from Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, San Jose, Oakland, and
Columbus will discuss their local ballot initiatives during a press conference at the
American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) annual meeting.
W. Curtis Stitt, COTA President/CEO, will offer the COTA perspective, and discuss the
impact of renewing the levy, which would maintain the revenue from the 2006 levy
through 2026 without raising taxes, and allow COTA to continue to deliver expanded
service and implement planned enhancements.
Reporters are welcome to attend the press conference or listen by phone. RSVPs are
required. If you plan to call-in by phone, after you RSVP, you will receive the call-in
information. Please RSVP by contacting Mantill Williams at
The APTA annual meeting will be held Sept. 12-14. This annual conference will draw
