COLUMBUS, OH—The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is launching COTA NextGen, a long-range
visioning effort, to identify public transportation needs and opportunities for the next 10, 25 and 35 years. The
public is invited to participate in two upcoming public meetings on Thursday, April 23 and provide input that will
help shape the next generation of public transportation in central Ohio.
NextGen is a three-phase effort to analyze how future demographic trends and community preferences will
influence opportunities and demand for public transportation. During the first phase, COTA is encouraging
residents to be vocal about how they want to get around central Ohio in the future.
“NextGen will be the community’s plan for public transportation, not just COTA’s,” said Curtis Stitt, COTA
President/CEO. “We want people to think big. This is an opportunity to dream a little and share every idea, big
or small.”
