Qualifications
A vocational/technical diploma with emphasis in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair or related field and 3-5 yrs. maintenance training exp. required; a viable combination of education, training and exp. will be considered; must have excellent oral & written communication skills; must be able to adapt to employee work hours/schedules to accomplish the responsibilities of the job.

Description
This position is responsible for the development of a comprehensive training program for maintenance personnel (technicians & supervisors). Develops, plans, directs, schedules, instructs, demonstrates, and trains employees in technical and non-technical aspects of vehicle and equipment maintenance. Develops joint partnerships with local agencies to enhance vehicle maintenance programs, technologies, and education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities include installing/removing all types of units of bus equipment (transmissions, engines, differentials & axle tubes) in the shop or on the road, making repairs and adjustments; testing and troubleshooting equipment; operating jacks, hoists, and tow-trucks; removing/installing air equipment; transporting parts, vehicles, and personnel; performing minor electrical wiring repairs; soldering, heating and acetylene cutting on vehicles; operating cleaning/power washing equipment; cleaning or steaming coaches, components parts and other equipment as required.

Qualifications
Must have Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field and 2 yrs. mechanical exp. with heavy equipment; exp. with spreadsheets, database, CAD, and AutoCAD applications. Direct all vehicle maintenance operations/activities to ensure sufficient amount of buses are available to meet service needs; develop/implement preventative maintenance programs; monitor fleet reliability & effectiveness to improve equipment failure and improve on-time performance; oversee technical studies; direct and monitor all capital & operating budget activities; maintain labor relations through contract administration; adjudicate grievances/complaints in a fair, timely manner in accordance with bargaining agreement provisions; work closely with VP of Operations.
