Lost & Found
Customers that have lost an item on a COTA bus may call COTA Connection at 614-228-1776 or 614-228-4112 to see if the item has been retrieved. Found items can be retrieved the next business day after 11:30 a.m. at COTA Connection, 60 E. Broad St. Items lost on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and turned in can be retrieved on Monday after 11:30 a.m.
COTA policies for claiming lost property:
- The individual who claims any lost item MUST appear in person at the COTA Connection (customer information center) at 60 East Broad Street in order to claim lost property. The true owner of the property must appear. No item shall be released to any other party. The individual claiming the lost item MUST show a picture I.D. in order to retrieve the item. COTA cannot return the property by mail.
- In order to claim the property, the owner MUST provide COTA with an accurate description of the item lost, i.e. a purse must be described by color and contents, tapes and books must be described by name.
- The individual claiming the lost article MUST sign (name and address) a claim tag.
- If after thirty (30) days an item deposited with COTA Connection Lost & Found is not claimed by the true owner, the item will be disposed of in a manner consistent with local, state and federal law, as well as this policy.
