Accessible Buses
COTA has both lift-equipped and ramp-equipped buses to serve passengers in a wheelchair. Timetables and buses are marked with the International Accessibility Symbol when accessible transportation is provided.
Kneeling Buses
COTA's entire fleet of buses has a kneeling function which allows the front door of the bus to be lowered closer to the ground. The average bus will kneel to 10.5 inches measured from the bottom step. This varies depending on the road surface and suspension of the actual vehicle.
Annunciators
COTA buses are being equipped with hardware that will announce and display next bus stop information and the ultimate destination.

Reduced Fares
COTA provides half-price fares on fixed route service for individuals who qualify for a Key ID card or senior citizen ID card. Individuals who qualify for an ADA ID card ride fixed route service free. Authorized personal care attendants (PCA's) ride complimentary when accompanying an approved ADA rider.
To receive a Senior Discount ID, bring proof that you are 65 or older (driver's license, state ID or birth certificate) to the COTA Connection - Customer Service Center, 60 E. Broad St., Downtown, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Passengers with a Senior Discount ID ride COTA's regular route service for 75 cents each way.
Eligible persons with a disability and a Reduced Fare ID ride COTA's regular route service for 75 cents each way. Your Reduced Fare ID is a photo identification card with an expiration date, and must be renewed regularly. To qualify, you must provide COTA with one of the following:
• A COTA Reduced Fare (Key or Senior) form with a licensed medical professional's signature and Ohio license number • A Medicare Card and picture ID • A Social Security/Veteran Disability Award letter and picture ID To get a Key ID you must: • Pick up a Reduced Fare form at the COTA Connection - Customer Service Center, 60 E. Broad St. or call (614) 228-1776. • Bring the completed certification form, Medicare Card, or Social Security/Veteran Disability Award letter and picture ID to the COTA Connection - Customer Service Center, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., to receive your Key ID card.
An ADA ID card is required to ride Project Mainstream, COTA's paratransit service. ID cards are issued to eligible customers. To apply for eligibility, call (614) 275-5828 or (614) 228-1776.

COTA offers services to meet the needs of the active senior citizen. From shopping and visiting friends to taking a group trip, COTA helps Central Ohioans get more out of life!
Senior Discount on Regular Route Service
COTA offers half-price fares for seniors. With your COTA Senior Discount ID, you pay only 75¢ for a one-way local fare, compared to a $1.50 full fare. A COTA Senior Discount ID also entitles you to discounted passes -- only $22.00 for a monthly pass, compared to the $45 full fare, and only $1.50 for a DayPass compared to the $3.00 full fare. Reduced fare discount day passes cannot be purchased on the bus, but can be purchased at COTA Connection and participating Kroger and Giant Eagle stores.
To get a senior discount, you must have a COTA Senior Discount ID, available FREE for people 65 or older, to receive the discounted fare. Just visit the COTA Connection -- Customer Service Center, with proof of your age (driver's license, state ID, or birth certificate). The customer service center is located Downtown at 60 E. Broad St. and is open for IDs Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
A COTA Senior ID qualifies you for discounts on monthly passes and DayPasses. These IDs are sold at the COTA Customer Service Center, and at participating Franklin County Kroger and Giant Eagle stores.
Accessible Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC)
The Accessible Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC) works with COTA in shaping accessible public transit services for individuals with disabilities. Committee members are individuals with disabilities or their advocates. They serve in an advisory capacity to COTA as public transit services expand with the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Project Mainstream
Individuals who are unable to use COTA's regular route bus service as a result of a disability may be eligible for COTA's Project Mainstream paratransit service. For more information, email paratransit@cota.com or call (614) 275-5828.
