Our fare boxes accept COTA issued passes and transfer as well as cash only – both bills and coins. Be sure to have exact change when boarding. Free transfer available upon request, valid for two hours.
Customers who purchase a single-trip bus fare can transfer to another bus line of the same type or same line in the same direction without charge. Transfers are valid for two hours from time of issue. Transfers between bus types, such as from a Local to an Express route, are subject to an up-charge. Ask your bus operator for transfers when you board the bus. Additional $1 is required to ride a Local bus with a LINK transfer and an additional $1.75 is required to ride an Express bus with a LINK transfer.
If you plan to ride regularly, COTA offers one-day, seven-day and 31-Day bus passes. You can buy an adult one-day pass on the bus. Buy the rest at participating Kroger and Giant Eagle stores and at the William J. Lhota Building, COTA Pass Sales, 33 N. High Street. Click here for a complete list of COTA pass outlets.
